Dental Implant Procedure

Dental Implant Procedure
Description:
A dental implant procedure is a complex but well-organized surgical procedure that requires careful planning and a professional approach. The process takes place in several stages and can take several months due to the need for the implant to integrate with the bone tissue.
Key stages of the procedure:
1. Diagnosis and planning: First, the dentist conducts a detailed examination of the oral cavity, X-ray diagnostics and, if necessary, computed tomography. These studies help determine the exact position of the implant, the required amount of bone tissue and possible complications. Based on the data obtained, a treatment plan is drawn up.
2. Surgical intervention: In the first stage, the surgeon makes an incision in the gum to open access to the jawbone. Then a hole is drilled into which a titanium pin is implanted. This procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia, and in some cases sedation is possible.
3. Implant Integration: After surgery, the implant begins the process of osseointegration — growing with bone tissue. This is an important stage, as it is it that ensures the strength and stability of the implant. Integration can last from several weeks to several months, depending on the condition of the bone and the individual characteristics of the patient.
4. Installation of abutment and crown: When the implant is fully integrated with the bone, the dentist installs an abutment — the connecting part between the implant and the crown. After that, a crown that imitates a natural tooth is fabricated and installed.
Recovery time:
Each stage of the procedure requires a certain amount of time for healing and integration of the implant. The total time of the process from start to finish can take from 3 to 6 months. However, in some cases, it is possible to speed up the process with the help of the latest technologies.
